About
Eli Cuda
I believe that my clients hold within themselves the key to healing and change, and it’s a privilege to collaborate with each of them in this process. There are no universal truths and my aim is to provide therapy that is tailored to each client’s needs and goals, as well as their unique beliefs and cultural values. It is also important to me that each client feels seen and affirmed in the therapeutic relationship. My approach is rooted in Relational-Cultural Theory, Attachment Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, and social justice. I utilize EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention in my work with clients, while integrating methods from other therapeutic approaches such as DBT and ACT. My goal is to develop security in the therapeutic relationship so that we may safely work together to explore your struggles and work toward developing a greater skillset for navigating life’s challenges. Together we will explore the factors influencing your current struggles and work together as a team to find the best path forward for you.
My focuses as a counselor and human are gender, sexuality, and queer studies. This is where my passion resides and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to walk beside members of this community in their journey toward better mental health and well-being.
I recognize that my personal lens is influenced by my lived experience as a white, non-binary, assigned female at birth, queer, able-bodied, college-educated person. I’m committed to the work of dismantling all systems of power, including those that are designed to benefit me. Recognizing and unlearning my biases is lifelong work to which I am dedicated.
